Winter is coming to an end and now is the time to start assessing any wind, rain and other damage caused from the elements or critters that may have affected your home.
Begin checking the exterior of your home for peeling or cracked paint which can be caused from something as simple as the prevailing winds. A pressure wash of the exterior to remove debris and other accumulations would be recommended.
Keeping your exterior paint fresh can prevent wood from becoming soft and rotting. Also inspect your caulking around windows, doors and other vulnerable areas. If you find loose or missing caulk this should be repaired. Check concrete for cracks that need sealing and consider adding concrete paint for a uniform appearance and protection.
Exterior maintenance frequency depends on the existing materials so carefully inspect trim, siding, stucco and any other exterior surfaces.
